911 Series Review
Every year, without fail, "911" has us all clutching tissues, rocking in corners, ugly crying over characters we swore we didn't like. It's the show that lives rent-free in our hearts, despite consistently wreaking emotional havoc on our lives. And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
Let’s start with Athena played by Angela Bassett and Bobby played by Peter Krause—the power couple of the series and, quite frankly, the blueprint for healthy relationships. Athena, the absolute queen of calm-yet-fierce authority, paired with Bobby, the steady, soft-hearted firefighter with enough wisdom to fill a library, is perfection. Their relationship is the light at the end of every chaotic, fire-filled tunnel. Watching their dynamic is like sipping hot chocolate during a thunderstorm—comforting, warm, and just right.
Now onto Buckley—dear, sweet Buckley. When he officially came out, everyone collectively lost their minds as if it were the plot twist of the century. But come on! The signs were there since Season One, like breadcrumbs leading to this beautiful revelation. It’s been a joy to watch him embrace his truth, and honestly, it made us love him even more (if that’s even possible).
Speaking of Buck, can we talk about Buck and Eddie who are portrayed by Oliver Stark and Ryan Guzman? Because, honestly, their co-parenting dynamic is what romantic dreams are made of. The way Eddie trusts Buck with his son, Christopher, and how Buck steps into that role seamlessly—it’s giving soulmate energy, and we’re all rooting for them to finally realize they’re perfect for each other. Seriously, writers, the ball is in your court.
And yes, they did it again—killed off one of the fan-favorite characters this season. Are we surprised? No. Are we devastated? Absolutely. Despite the heartbreak, we're still tuning in, season after season, glued to the chaos, heartbreak, and glimmers of hope this show delivers.
"911" is a masterclass in emotional storytelling, and no matter how much damage it inflicts on our tear ducts, we just can’t quit it. Here's to riding the rollercoaster until the bitter end! Buck and Eddie endgame when? Fingers crossed. Until then, pass the tissues. We’re going to need them.
I give this series 5 out of 5 acorns.
