The White Lotus Review
Ah, "The White Lotus"—a series that proves rich people problems are way more entertaining than they have any right to be. From scandalous affairs to existential crises by the infinity pool, this show serves up satire, mystery, and murder on a silver platter.
Season 1 threw us into a Hawaiian resort, where the entitled guests played musical chairs with drama while resort manager. Armond, played by Australian actor Murray Bartlett who slowly unraveled in the background. It was a masterclass in tension and comedic absurdity, complete with Jennifer Coolidge who play Tanya, a wealthy, emotionally fragile heiress. An icon (as always) in every role she plays. The ending was *chef’s kiss*—tense, unexpected, and satisfying in the way that only "The White Lotus" can be.
Then came Season 2, whisking us away to Sicily, where the stakes were even higher. The cast includes Aubrey Plaza and Theo James. There's more deceit, more beautiful landscapes, and even steamier affairs. The power plays between couples and that eerie sense of doom looming over everything made this season an absolute ride. Plus, Coolidge’s return as Tanya was perfection—until, well, that ending. Let’s just say her yacht adventure didn’t go as planned (but was it ever really going to?).
And now, Season 3. The anticipation was real. The execution? Well, it started with a bit of a slow burn, like sipping a mediocre cocktail at a five-star resort—sure, it’s decent, but did I *love* it? Not at first. But just when I thought it wasn’t delivering the same magic, it *pulled out all the stops* at the end, making up for lost time with jaw-dropping twists. The cast consisted of everyone from Walton Googins to Patrick Schwarzenegger. Overall, "The White Lotus" remains an intoxicating escape full of satire, luxury, and impending doom. If you haven’t checked in yet, grab your best vacation attire and prepare for the chaos. Highly recommend!
"The White Lotus" has assembled an impressive cast across its three seasons, blending Hollywood veterans with rising stars. Each season brings fresh chaos, new power struggles, and a whole lot of vacation drama. Who was your favorite character?
I give it 4 out of 5 acorns.
