Kidnapped by a Killer: The Heather Robinson Story Review

Batman vs Superman Review

It’s been a while since I’ve written a review for one of my husband in my head movies—Henry Cavill, the Man of Steel himself. Umm-hum! But here we are, diving into the movie that had comic book fans hyped and skeptics raising their eyebrows: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Let’s break down this epic showdown and all its glorious (and sometimes head-scratching) moments.

First up, we have Henry Cavill as Superman—looking every bit like an alien deity while making saving the world look effortless (except when dealing with bad PR). On the other end of the brooding spectrum, Ben Affleck steps in as Batman—older, grittier, and clearly holding onto decades of unresolved trauma. Then there’s Gal Gadot, who makes a jaw-dropping entrance as Wonder Woman, stealing scenes left and right with her power, presence, and that iconic theme music that makes you want to start training for battle immediately.

Let’s not forget Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor—who gives us a version of Luthor that feels more like an eccentric tech billionaire than the cold, calculating villain we’re used to. He’s got the brains, sure, but his erratic, fast-talking schemes make you wonder if he’s one bad day away from losing all his marbles.

The whole movie builds up to the battle between Batman and Superman—the billionaire with trust issues versus the alien who just wants to be appreciated. Batman, convinced that Superman is too powerful to exist unchecked, crafts a detailed plan to take him down, complete with kryptonite gadgets and angry monologues. Superman, on the other hand, is mostly confused and wondering why Bruce Wayne hates him so much.

And then comes the moment—the infamous “Martha” scene. You know the one. The scene where two grown men stop fighting because they realize their moms have the same name. It’s supposed to be emotional, but let’s be honest—it threw everyone off.

Despite its flaws (ahem, Martha), the movie gives us a beautifully shot, action-packed spectacle. It’s dark, dramatic, and visually stunning, with fight scenes that feel straight out of a comic book. Is it perfect? Nope. But did I love watching Henry Cavill exist on screen? Absolutely.
If you haven’t seen it, grab a blanket, find your favorite spot on the couch, and check it out—I highly recommend it.

I give this movie 5 out of 5 acorns.
